Dear Boys and Girls,
On the eve (or two) of the big announcement, I thought I'd share how I'm feeling.
Maybe I should be on pins and needles. To my surprise, I'm really not. Well, yes, of course, I'm a little anxious. Okay, maybe a lot. :) My goal was to be a finalist. I trained AS IF I would be one. How else can you achieve something if all the while you think you'll fail? But truly, finalist or not, win or lose, I have already won and been paid and repaid a million times over. And no, I'm not talking financially.
Getting ready for the photoshoot and achieving my fitness goal of 12% bodyfat by the end of January required a lot of work, dedication, and focus. I did it. The day after the photoshoot I was (irrationally!) afraid that my new fit body would go away. It hasn't. I'm getting stronger, better. The best is yet to come.
Sweet potatoes, lean meats, fresh veggies, whey protein, egg whites, cardio in the am, resistance in the pm, have all become a way of life. This fit body, it's mine. The confidence, sense of achievement, all mine. And I get to share my success with others so that they, too, can achieve their fitness goals.
It really is a beautiful thing.
The past month has been very stressful for me because of life changes both in my personal and professional life. Yet, in all this I have discovered that I am not so easily derailed. No matter how stressed I have been, my workouts and clean eating have always been a top priority. Oh, wow, fitness and clean eating have become a habit, a good one. I know they are the foundation to a happy, centered life.
I've been blogging less, yes. But, that's temporary. Remember, I'm here to stay. The best of me is yet to come.
