Day 15: Lemons & Lemonade

I had been looking forward to using a pull-up bar in my summer sublet, since my doorways are too wide back home to set one up. After a week of workouts with a pull-up bar at Nazly's home, I was even more psyched. I have to admit it: I really felt the difference using the pull-up bar versus the resistance bands (which is what I had been using all along).

The BeachBody pull-up bar that I had ordered prior to traveling was waiting for me when I moved into my summer apartment this past Sunday night, ready to be assembled. I took advantage of my friend's visit to have it put together while I hung back and wiggled my toes. I am so not a handy-woman. Thank goodness for friends with skills, I say!

As I sat back chatting with Kelly, who is two weeks into her first round of P90X, I noticed the definition on her shoulder. I had never seen that before and neither had she! And yesterday at Harry's Water Taxi beach (a sandbox, really, but with an urban landscape), it was incredible to have my friend Nazly join me in wearing a micro-bikini. Oh yes, it feels good to be fit! It feels even more delightful to see that my thirty-something girlfriends have joined me on this journey and that they are looking better than they ever have. We are most definitely BRINGING IT!

Oops, I digress...Back to the pull-up bar.

As it turns out, it didn't fit. The trim on the door frame wasn't wide enough. No sweat, I thought, I'll make do with what I have. So, after searching for a place in the apartment where I could hook my resistance bands, I found the perfect spot: a security gate between the refrigerator and the stove.

Okay, so ideally I would not have sat in between the garbage can and the litter box to do my resistance work, but it did the trick! After I would finish my push-ups in the living room, I would run into the kitchen for my pull-downs. What a great workout! Surely, this was how Rocky must have felt. Riggghhhht.

I hardly had any energy left for Abripper-X, but I BROUGHT IT there, too. I am definitely beginning to see the fruits of my labor.

Day 15 down. 75 more to go.

Bring it!

Hi Barbie

So sorry your pull-up bar still didn't work. I keep thinking after about the millionth "assisted" pull-up I've done so far that I would at least be able to get myself half way up on my own? Guess I need to keep practicing! But, how I do live Chest and Back- one of my favorites!
