Finding Solutions: Insanity and Chalean Extreme

Dear Boys and Girls,

I came to a decision tonight after giving my foot pain much thought. It's silly for me to continue with a high impact program six times a week if I'm in pain. And although I hate to admit it, Insanity is too high impact for me.

Oh, poop! Can I just say POOP!

I noticed it just a few days after starting. My foot pain made it difficult to do some of the jump/run type movements. The problem with plantaar fasciitis is that it follows me wherever I go all day long.

At first I thought I would stick it out. I mean, what's sixty days, right? But one day of pain is painful. I can't possibly do 60! And really, working out with pain defeats the purpose of doing a fitness program that is supposed to be fun!

I guess my fear is that folks will be discouraged by my experience. Insanity is a great program if you are in shape and if you can do high impact activities without pain. I have never sweated as much as I do with Insanity.

So: Instead of stopping Insanity altogether (I LIKE IT TOO MUCH!), I have decided to cut down on my workouts. I will be doing 3 days of resistance work with Chalean Extreme and 3 days of cardio with Insanity. I somehow suspect that I will get amazing results.

Once made, the decision felt right. You have to find what works for you and be willing to admit when something isn't working. Yea, that feels just right.

Bring it!

Great decision! When I injured my foot and started feeling the pain of plantaar faciitis I didn't listen to my body. Ultimately, my foot gave out and I was sidelined from exercise for over 6 months.

You're an inspiration to us all and it's great to know that the wonderfully fit get waylayed at times to and find smart ways to keep on moving.!

I think you made the perfect choice! In no point injuring yourself. Listen to your body. The body is an amazing thing. And pain receptors are there to let you know to stop or cut back what you are doing...

Plus it's gotta make it a bit more interesting, mixing it up ;)

That is a great decision. It is definitely better to listen to your body than to risk injury. You sharing this is also a great way so show how versatile these programs are.

You will get the results you want! Keep bringing it! You're a rockstar!

You guys are awesome. Thanks for the support.

I took the day off today instead of tomorrow and my feet are still aching. I'm really glad I made this decision. I don't know if I'll be able to do Insanity three times a week, but we'll see! Stay tuned!
