Barbie's New Workout Schedule

Dear Boys and Girls,

It feels so good to feel the fire again. For months, pretty much since April (when I finished up with Chalean Extreme) I had been pressing play and eating clean, but not really feeeeeeling my workouts. Nonetheless, I showed up daily. Not wanting to work out did not influence my decision to work out. I always show up and that's why I've continued to see results.

But, ohhhh, I got my mojo back and I absolutely love it!

The day that I found out that I had won the $10,000 for my transformation in the Million Dollar Body Game, I decided that I was going to give this my all. I am going to give 110%. Whether I become a finalist or not will, in the end, be somewhat irrelevant. I am, once and for all, going to get my six-pac. Period.

The same day that I decided to go for the gold, I told myself that I would have to make a No Matter What Promise to myself. I know that I won't always feel like showing up. More than ever, I have to show up and really try to be present. I am committed. I know I will achieve my goals.

So: I decided to switch back to P90X and Tony's One on Ones because I would like to gain more muscle mass. I've surpassed my goal to reach 130lbs (I'm 128 now!). It's time to really shape these muscles.

Here is my routine which I borrowed and modified from my buddy, 10k winner Jeffrey Armbruster. Thanks, Jeff!!

SUNDAY
AM: Cardio Intervals
PM: 30/15
Abs

MONDAY
AM: Plyo Legs

TUESDAY
AM: Super Cardio or Turbo Jam or other Cardio
PM: Just Arms or other upper body P90X workout
Abs

WEDNESDAY
AM: Yoga

THURSDAY
Rest Day

FRIDAY
AM: Bun Shaper
PM: Legs and Back
Abs

SATURDAY
Yoga

There you have it! I'm open to modification. I've been doing this more or less for a week and feel great. Upon my friend Coni's suggestion, I will be doing Yoga twice a week and cardio 3-4 times a week.

If I feel like it's too much, I will cut back a bit. But, for now, I'm ready!

Bring it!

That's awesome that you met your goal, Barbie! Someday you will get the six-pack abs that you want. :)

I know what you mean about not feeling it. That's how I've been lately. There's a lot of crap going on in my life right now, and I've just kind of been going through my workouts 'cause I know I need to, but not enjoying them at all. Hopefully that'll stop soon.

Thanks, girl! Getting to my goal weight has felt easy ALMOST because I've been so busy. So, I've been eating like clockwork, not thinking about things I crave. And now, eating from top 2 tiers, it's as if my body has stopped craving. I'm eating for fuel, which is awesome! and omg, Peanut butter (natural) on ww bread is ssssoooo yummy.

Push on thru, you know the deal. It'll make you stronger and better equipped with life's problems. You know that. Hugs to you!! and THANK YOU for always commenting! You and Adam!

Hey Barbie, congrats again on winning and meeting your weight goal. You really are an inspiration. I have a quick question if you don't mind.

I'll be finishing Insanity in 3 weeks, then I want to do a P90x, 1-1, Insanity hybrid. My legs have gotten more defined from Insanity than ever before. I want a rotation that will still stress cardio, but I need some weights. Any suggestions??

This is what I was thinking......

Chest and Back or 30/15
Plyometric cardio circuit or pure cardio
Shoulders and arms or just arms/diamond delts
Patience Yoga/FOY Yoga
Core Ball Sandwhich/ Core Synergistics
Cardio Intervals/ Another Insanity Cardio Workout
Off

I'd do that for three weeks, then take a recovery week. My biggest concern is the third resistance workout of the week. I don't want to do legs and back, because I don't want to overwork my legs. I do want to do CBS or Core Syn. or some variation to hit the large muscle groups again. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again Barbie, you rock.

Hmmm...I'm thinking...

Looks great, Adam. I think your CORE SYN day should go to LEGS and BACK to be honest. IT's a different way of working your legs and you'd be getting that resistance in there.

I like the idea of 3 on, 1 recover, 3 on. It works!
