In This Space of Nowhere...
Dear Boys and Girls,
I'm at the aiport; my flight is delayed. Lucky me, I just had an epiphany that I would like to share.
As I was floating around the airport, taking a break from working on my computer, I found myself wandering to the chocolate aisle. I even picked up a little dark chocolate bar to read the nutritional information. It wasn't there. I caught myself, what the heck am I doing?! And why?!
In this space of nowhere, it's easy to forget your goals.
Where is nowhere?
Nowhere is travel in general and everything associated with it: airports, beaches, restaurants, family. Nowhere is the place we go to when we are not in our usual setting. We just tend to forget, forget that we want to lose the fat or get a six-pack, that we want a toned body and a better life.
With no points of reference, we forget and we stuff our faces, with little treats or giant margaritas.
Truth be told, had I not accepted this role as super fit Barbie, I probably would have made an excuse to try a Cinnabon or to buy a too big pack of trail mix or to eat that yummy bar of chocolate.
I mean, let's face it, it's not a sin and nothing would happen to my results if I did eat the chocolate. But travels have just begun. One excuse leads to another. If I only allow myself a cheat meal/day in my "regular" life, why would a few days of travel mean something different? I'm not on vacation, I'm simply traveling for work.
As I write this, I still want that bar of chocolate. I do. But, I won't get it. I will, as promised, have my six-pack by July 4th.
Bring it, people! Bring it!
Yours in health!
