Slim in 6, Week 4. Just Suck It Up!

Dear Boys and Girls,

I am on week 4 of Slim in 6....

....and I just want to scream! I am sick of it! I'm sick of the lunges, the squats, and oh, those darn leg lifts. The other day I had to laugh at myself when I literally gave Debbie the finger when she asked me to do one of her moves.

Every morning I wake up and play the same old game. I tell myself, "Hmm, maybe I should do another workout? try Insanity again? or Tony's One on One. Turbo Jam might be way more fun."
But despite this little voice which is pretty loud actually, day in and day out I find myself pressing play to Slim in 6's Burn it Up.

WHY?!! Because I know Slim in 6 delivers. Because I have faith in the process. Because I know this is where it counts. When I did my first round of Slim in 6 back in 2007, I really began to see results AFTER week 4. I only lost 2 or 3 pounds in weeks 5 and 6, but I looked and felt different.

I know a lot of folks find week 4 and/or 5 to be dreadful. I won't lie, I'm feeling it, too! But, just keep pushing. Tell yourself, "I'd rather be bored than fat."

And remember, you have to bring it in the kitchen if you want to see results.

So, BRING IT! Your partner in fitness,

Change Doesn't Happen Overnight

Dear Boys and Girls,

Earlier this morning I posted the above picture on Facebook, along with a comment about how I had lost 5 inches off my hips. Within two hours, my inbox was flooded with comments telling me how "lucky" I was and with questions about the program I had used to produce such results.

Woahhhhh, let's back it up a second! I say this over and over: change is a process. I didn't lose five inches off my hips in six weeks or six months. It has taken me almost two years to achieve these results. And as far as luck? Yes, I was lucky to stumble upon BeachBody! But, I have put in the work, a lot of work.

I had much to say, so I made a little video. Enjoy and remember: baby steps will get you from where you are to where you want to be!

Potato Barbie: Eating on Vacation

Dear Boys and Girls,

Last Friday I headed out to Catalina Island, where, um, I had one too many margaritas, quesadillas, fried calamari, ribs, and oh, I can't forget the pancakes with walnuts. "Oh, Barbie, you work out so hard, you deserve to treat yourself once in a while." Indeed, but dang, did I have to go for broke?!

Why do most of us do this to ourselves on vacation? Why, oh, why do all rules of common sense fly out the window? Stuffing yourself silly is never a good idea. The thing is, while I had a wonderful time (it's the cutest little island ever!), I felt bloated and yucky for a good part of it. Instead of enjoying my beachbody on the beach, I hate to admit it, but I was feeling self conscious. I felt like a potato on two sticks! I'm sure I didn't look that way, well, not fully, but it was definitely how I felt.

When I first started my journey with BeachBody, I would eat 100% clean 6 days out of the week and then eat anything and everything I could think of on the 7th day. My actions were saying that I was somehow depriving myself during the week, which I wasn't. I was eating clean and enjoying it, but somewhere in my mind, the old patterns were holding tight: it's feast or famine, Barbie.

I think the same thinking was at play this past weekend.

Oh, to be human. What a pain it can be sometimes! I've been giving this overindulging a whole lot of thought lately. I feel great when I eat clean. I feel fit, lean, and strong. It doesn't feel good to go overboard all day long.

I'll be going away again for the weekend of July 4th. Can I promise that I won't do the same thing this time around. I sure hope so! We'll see...

I am a work in progress, moving in the right direction.

Bring it!

Tips To Success

Dear Boys and Girls,

I received the following email in my mailbox from Donna, one of the awesome coaches on my team. I wasn't even aware about some of the tools BeachBody has to offer even though I posted about the Club last week. See below.

And, omg! Donna had told me that she is using my transformation pictures as her screen saver for motivation, but seeing a picture of her screen made me blush! Hey, whatever works, kids!! Do it!! Thank you, Donna! I'm so touched and flattered.

Donna has lost over 20 lbs with Slim in 6 and P90X. Her son, Robb, had lost over 45 lbs in three months the last time I checked (back in May). Way to bring it, Donna and Robb!!

Your partner in success,

Hello Peeps,

I thought I’d share some information on the dreaded other ½ of the fitness equation = Nutrition.

Admittedly so, this is my weakness! I’m terrible when it comes to food. The exercise part, I’m a lot better! After a year of doing Beachbody works, I’m happy to say I’m pretty consistent!! 5-6X a week. (but that was a struggle when I started).

So, what’s up with the food part? Bad habits, I guess. So I’m trying to arm myself with as much information as I can to really kick my fitness into overdrive. Here are some things I’ve learned (Donna-style, which for me, is the “dummies” version of stuff):

1. You need to find out how many calories you need daily. (duh!, well, for me I just guessed, not anymore). On the Beachbody page, you’ll see a tab called EAT SMART. Click it, then click CALORIE NEEDS. See my stats below. So now I know, I need to eat about 1800 cals.

2. WHAT THE HECK TO EAT? P90X has a great guide which tells me Tony’s recommendations on carbs, fat and protein. Well, under that same tab, EAT SMART, you’ll see something call MICHI’S LADDER. This is a great cheat-sheet for ideas. If you can get 85% of your items from Tier 1 and 2, you are pretty golden!

3. Meal Planner and shopping list. Again, punch in your info into the site and Beachbody gives you some menu planning and shopping list – cool beans.

4. JOURNAL! Now, for watching what I eat during the day, I use MyFitnessPal.com (free software that is super duper easy to use). I track my eats and I’m more aware of what the heck I’ve eaten and what I have left.

TIPS TO SUCCESS:

1. Hold yourself accountable!

a. Tell everyone your goals – let people know what you are doing!

b. Journal your food! I hate doing this, but it’s great for awareness. Even if you do it sporadically, just try it!

2. De-junkify your house! Really – throw that ice cream and those twinkies out

3. Use the Beachbody message boards! I’m telling you….that’s where my coach stayed in touch with me and got me through my tough times.

4. REMEMBER to ADJUST YOUR CALORIC needs every 10 pounds you lose!! If you’ve hit a plateau, it could be a combination of your calories and your workout – look at both.

5. If you are a traveler – don’t eat off the menu! That’s right; have them cook what you can eat! I know, I don’t do it either, I feel funny, but it makes all the difference.

6. FIND A MOTIVATOR. Here is a picture of my wall paper on my computer: My awesome coach BARBIE! She has been my inspiration and I can only hope I can inspire you guys – pay it forward! What’s great about Barbie, she’s a real person! Yes, she didn’t just come out of the womb this way…she works her butt off! But look what happens when you do….RESULTS! (And did I mention she won $1,000 from Beachbody – transformation story – I think I did 10 times before)

Keep in touch!

Barbie Gets Her Butt Whooped by Slim in 6

Photobucket

For those of you who are new to Barbie's blog, you may be wondering: What is this Slim in 6? It's Debbie Sieber's fitness videos, specifically designed to blast your backfat into oblivion. It's the product I used to drop 11 pounds in 6 weeks and, I kid you not, to completely transform my body. I've said it a million times and it is worth repeating: There is nothing, and I mean nothing like Slim in 6 for weight loss.

This past weekend I decided to go back to Debbie for a few weeks beginning today. Why? It's certainly not for the entertainment factor. Oh, Debbie, you know I love you! Starting November 26th I will be going from Dallas, to NY, back to Dallas, then to London, Paris, NY, San Francisco, Dallas, the Cayman Islands, and then finally back to Dallas. Yikes, with all that traveling, I know I have to simplify my workouts. Slim in 6 comes in one neat little dvd box and all I need to carry along with me is a resistance band. You bet I'll also bring along some Turbo Jam, but my main program will be Slim in 6.

The last time I completed a round of Slim in 6, I was already at my goal weight. I lost zero pounds after six weeks, but leaned out my body just the way I wanted to. Am I hoping to do that again? Yea, maybe. I know I can always count on Debbie to keep me fit and trim.

Today was my first of many moments with Debbie. Can I tell you: she whoooped my butt! I am not kidding! After five minutes I decided that it really doesn't ever get easy, no matter how many rounds of Turbo Jam and P90X you may have done.

The lunges? Oh, goodness, don't get me started. The leg lifts? I wanted to scream after 2 minutes on the right leg! But, I kept going because I want the results and because I know how effective her program is.

There is nothing like Debbie to get Barbie to curse like a sailor and to shrink a girl's hips from 40 inches to 35.

As Lean As I Wanna Be: P90X Plus Hybrid

A few folks have asked me to list my hybrid workout routine for P90X Plus. The truth is that I don't remember exactly what I've done over the past 8 weeks. But, wait! Before you judge, know that there has been order and reason to my routine!

First, I decided that I wanted to follow the LEAN vs. CLASSIC routine. My goal was to lean out, that is, to acquire a longer, slimmer physique. When I did the Classic version of P90X this past summer, I put on a lot of muscle. I looked strong, but I didn't like the way I looked. I, um, kinda felt like a football player. Looking back, my calories were also on the high side (about 2000/day), which definitely contributed to my bulked up look.

The lean version of both the X and the X Plus recommends that you do two resistance workouts per week: upper body and lower body. The rest of the days are a mix of cardio/core/yoga.

With that in mind, I decided that I would do Total Body Plus on Monday and Upper Body Plus on Thursday. The rest of the four days would be a mix of Turbo Jam, P90X Plus, and Ten Minute Trainer.

All was good...until I discovered Shaun T's ROCKIN' BODY and fell in love. I often alternate between Upper Body Plus and Rock it Out because both focus on Upper Body Work. When I have to do Lower Body or Total Body, I have more options: I can do Total Body Plus, Turbo Sculpt, or even Slim Series. It really depends what I'm in the mood for!

The most important thing for me has been to make sure that I do get my resistance work in. Without it, I would be skinny, but flabby. Not the look I am going for!

My calorie intake has been about 1500 calories or so. A few weeks ago, a friend introduced me to THE ZONE meal plans. It follows a 40% carb, 30% protein, and 30% fat breakdown, but the idea behind the zone is to eat foods with the lowest glycemic index and to have the right combination of carbs, protein, and fat with each and every meal. I can tell you, it has made all the difference. I also try my very best to not cheat during the week and to limit my cheating to one meal a week. I have not always been successful with that! The good news is that perfection is not necessary.

I know we are always arriving, but finally, I feel as if I have arrived!

Barbie Gets Fit: Day 60, Round 4

I'm not exactly sure when I hit day 60 of Round 4 of my hybrid P90X Plus program, but I know it's right about now. One of my goals is to win the Million Dollar Body transformation contest, so each month, around this time, I snap some photos. When, oh, when will I win? I'm determined to win, if not next month, then the following. I know it'll happen eventually, I just have to be patient. The great thing is that I keep getting fitter and fitter with each passing month. The odds are in my favor. Smile. I don't need the prize, I already feel like I have won. But cross your fingers, kids, I still want to win!

I was thrilled to see my progress pictures tonight. I hadn't really noticed any changes, as my measurements or weight hardly ever change anymore. But, the pictures I took told a different story. All that clean eating and bringing it are paying off. I am getting lean, lean, lean. Oh yes, we are the choices we make.

I've noticed that the times I struggle the most with cravings are those during which I seem to make a leap in my progress. Afraid to give in to my chocolate cake fantasies, I usually tighten up my eating and bring it with extra intensity. Just because you want to eat badly or not exercise, doesn't mean you have to give in to those desires. You bring it in the kitchen and on the mat because you want results, because you are committed. Period. And if you fall flat on your face, you get up, and continue on your journey. You will eventually get to your destination, although, for me, that place is always changing.

Just get started, if you are on the fence about starting a fitness program or if you are struggling. If you need extra support, reach out to your coach or choose one that you think would best support you. If that happens to be me, great! You know how to find me. I'd love to help you on your journey!

So You Wanna Get the Fat off Your Hips, Don't Cha?

One of the greatest things about me is that I can be very one track-minded. The ability to focus on a project means that I can and will get it done (when I want to), but... it also means that I can become self-indulgent and obsessive. So, let's give my writing woes a rest for a night, and focus on hip fat.

Through a service provided by "Feedburner," I am able to see the kinds of searches folks do to land them to my Getfitwithbarbie blog. I would say the number one search is "burning off hip fat," along with "Reviews of Tony Horton's One on One."

Ladies, and here I assume I'm speaking to the ladies, but boys listen up, too: You cannot spot reduce. You cannot JUST burn fat off your hips or belly. You gotta work on your whole body!

When I started Slim in 6 back in September 2007, I had 40.5 inch hips. Today, my hips measure about 35.5 inches. Five inches in a year. Seriously, I can hardly recognize my body sometimes when I look down as I'm walking. Who's that girl, for real?! So, yes, you can blast the fat off your hips, to be sure, but it takes time and again, you cannot spot reduce.

So, whether you are a man or a woman, if you're looking to blast your fat, Slim in 6 is truly the way to go. If you eat "clean" (and I can help you with that) and exercise six times a week to Debbie's not always so exciting Slim in 6, you will be closer to your dream hips and belly.

It's a process, it's a process. I am still working to blast the last remaining stubborn fat off my belly. But, I know I'll get there.

We really are closer than we think.

Aimee: Another BeachBody Success Story

Dear Boys and Girls,

Wow! Meet Aimee, another one of the beautiful women I coach who has had great success with Slim in 6 and Turbo Jam.
Aimee, you look stunning! Congratulations! I am so very proud of you!

Bring it!

Barbie, PhD

Aimee's Story:

I have spent most of my life overweight. I started getting chunky in elementary school and by high school I was a size 14/16. In college I worked thirty hours a week in addition to my college courses, I never gave much thought to exercise. By the time I was planning my wedding at age 22, I was a size 16. Desperate to lose weight for my wedding, I went to a weight loss center and cheated with diet pills until I reached a size 13, only to regain plus interest. I joined a weight loss program and started walking for exercise. I lost a little, quit, and put on more weight.

Something changed one day when was I watching an Oprah episode about obesity. I turned off the television with tears streaming down my face and went for a walk. I started walking regularly and started to enjoy my walks. When I started a stressful full-time job that had me home after dark, I immediately quit exercising.

I reached my heaviest at 225 lbs, I never weighed myself ( I found out this weight from my doctors office medical charts after I lost the weight.) I always felt tired and depressed. When I was nine months pregnant I weighed 250 lbs. This was my wake up call, this was rock bottom. I lost the pregnancy weight immediately, it just came off. Back at 225 lbs, I realized that if I kept doing what I was doing, then I was going to be 250 lbs in no time. The pregnancy had also changed my body and I no longer fit into my size 20 jeans. I knew I had to change my ways for my daughter, I had to set an example for her. I wasn't happy with myself and I knew that I needed to do something about it.

I started walking and doing yoga. I loosely followed a 40-30-30 plan and started losing weight. I dropped twenty pounds within a few months. I became determined to not just lose weight but to take off all the excess weight. I wanted to see what my face was born to look like, what I would look like without the excess fat. I stopped saying I wish, I want, and I need to, and started saying I will and when I reach my goal.

In May of 2003 I rejoined the old weight loss program and wrote down everything that I ate for an entire year. I did workout videos and walked. By the end of December 2003, I had reached 145 lbs. I rewarded myself with a gym membership and lost 10 lbs more. At 138 lbs friends and family complained that I had lost too much weight for my body frame. I tried to gain back 10 lbs on purpose and put on 15 lbs. Then in the struggle to loose five pounds, I would loose only to gain it back. I quit the weight loss program as I know longer found the meetings beneficial.

For a while I struggled to keep the pounds from coming back, until I found Beachbody, I started doing Turbo Jam, Slim n 6, and following a 40-30-30 plan. Today I am approximately 70 lbs down from my pre-pregnancy weight. I am healthy and I am setting a positive example for my daughter.

Day 1 of 30: Barbie Gets Whooped!

Sometimes you just have to call it like it is...and this workout, Day 1 of 30, was a true ass-kicker! I wasn't too excited this morning about hitting the gym to work out my legs, but I had decided to include a gym-day to my new routine to better sculpt my legs. As much as I love Debbie and Tony, I'm looking to build my hamstrings and glutes a bit more. I also just wanted to try something different, even if up until this morning, I had been a little skeptical of the effectiveness of my planned leg workout. What could be better than an hour with Tony, I thought, and what could be less exciting than being surrounded by a room-full of heavy equipment?

Well, boys and girls, after my first set of weighted squats on the Smith Machine, followed by walking lunges, I was begging for mercy. Who would have thought that six little exercises could kick my butt so badly? Admittedly, I found myself a little lonely in the weight-room without Tony's corny jokes and Debbie's sweet little voice. But, all in all, it was a great workout.

Once I was done with my leg workout forty minutes later, I took the elevator back home and popped in Abs Core Plus into my dvd player. Oh, Tony, Mark, and Tracy--hiya, kids! I had a hard time getting through the 19-minute abs workout, but I pushed through.

When it was over, I knew I didn't have it in me, as originally planned, to do 20 minutes of cardio. I was pooped...and hungry!

My eating has been right on target. Day 1 is officially over. Tomorrow, I rest. I'm looking forward to working out with Debbie's Slim Series on Wednesday.

I am feeling well-rested and excited to be taking my fitness to yet another level. The challenge for me over the next 30 days will be to not work out more than the scheduled 4 days. I'm curious to see how my body will respond to this new workout that includes a gym day, two days of Slim Series, and an outdoor bike-ride.

I love new beginnings! Let's keep bringing it!

Oops! I did it Again with Slim in 6

About half-way into round 3 of P90X, I decided to give my P90X rotation a break and switch to Debbie's Slim in 6 for the remainder of the 90 days. Why? While I was getting super-duper fit, I was starting to get a little too muscular. I kid you not when I say that my guns were busting out of my blouses. At 5'5" and 140lbs, I was happy with my body (weight and size), but was afraid of getting any bigger. To be honest, I had gotten a little too big, so I wanted to slim down and lean out a little more.

I knew who I had to turn to: Debbie Siebers' Slim in 6. Boys and Girls, I am in really good shape, and Debbie STILL manages to kick my butt. Today on Week 5, Day 4, I am looking svelte and lean, just like I had planned. Can I just say: BOOYAH!

If you're looking to BLAST YOUR FAT, I honestly know no better solution than Slim in 6. If you're anxious to get started with P90X, remember: The X will always be there.

I absolutely love P90x, but many folks, especially women, have a hard time dropping weight with the X. My recommendation? Do Slim in 6 FIRST, P90x SECOND.

Debbie Is Doing Her Magic! Could it Be?!

Yesterday was day 60 of P90x for me. If you read yesterday's blog entry then you know I was disappointed with where I was, not because P90x didn't deliver, but because I was beginning to build too much muscle. I noticed this about three weeks ago when my size two dress was a bit too snug because of my big guns!

Last week, instead of following the prescribed recovery week, I Burned it Up with Debbie Siebers' Slim in 6 weight-loss program. I am now on my 9th or 10th day (including my rest day) of Debbie, and I am shocked to see what my progress photos reveal. I haven't lost a single pound, but as if all of a sudden, I am leaning out.

Hip, Hip, Hurray is correct!

Surely there is a lesson to be learned in all of my whining! Yes, yes, I am sure of it. Here it is:

Whine all you want, but be willing to adjust and fine tune your workouts and eating, and you WILL get the results you seek! It takes time, effort, and patience (which, truth be told, I do not have!) But, I have been, excuse my language, busting my butt to find something that works for me. I am my own greatest coach, I do declare!

I wish patience could be bought or easily acquired. I admit, the last few weeks have been tough on me. I trust Debbie's ability to lean out ANY BODY (yes, Karen, even yours. My friend swears she's immune to Debbie), but I have lacked the patience to let the program do its magic. Oh, I am a work in progress, always striving to be better, not always succeeding at every attempt.

I said it last night and I will say it again: the journey is not always an easy one, but it is certainly one worth making.

Bring it!

Looking to Blast the Fat Off Your Hips and Thighs?

I've said it before, but I never tire of saying it, so I will say it time and again: There is NOTHING like Debbie to blast the fat off your hips and thighs! I've actually been this since before I knew that the program was especially formulated to produce this effect!

Stephen Edwards, BeachBody's Fitness Advisor Extraordinaire posted the following article detailing how Debbie's "Slim Training" technique works.

Read it and Believe it; I am the proof that it works!

* * *
Slim Training: Yes You Can Change Your Shape!

Beach Body has created a new technique for slimming the body, called "Slim Training™", which is the basis for a new program called Slim in 6™ - but it’s something you can create on your own as well. While Slim Training is not a revolutionary fitness concept altogether, it is the first time it has been tested andorganized into a system to work for everyone.

Slim Training combines many elements from traditional fitness programs into one routine that specifically targets all of your energy systems in order to slim down your body. If you have ever done basic training in the military or completed a pre-season "hell week" for a sport, chances are that you have done a similar type of program. What makes Slim Training unique is that instead of being targeted at a sport or performance-related goal, this program is designed to target the way you look and feel!

Sound science: Slim Training is, for the most part, sound science. For six weeks, six days a week, each session you should warm-up, stretch out, work out all of your muscle groups, and your cardiovascular system, then warm down. The 6-week program starts at an easy pace and increases in intensity over time until you peak around the sixth week. Then you should take a break for rest and recovery.

Revolutionary science: Slim training differs from most techniques in that you work all of your muscle groups every day for 6 consecutive days. This is in stark contrast to what most professionals say is optimum. The reason it works is that each workout doesn't totally max each muscle group. While the overall workouts should be intense, you shouldn't overload each muscle group to the point where it needs the standard 48 hours for recovery.

If you decide to use Slim in 6 to get the results of the Slim Training technique, the program's "coach" and creator, Debbie Siebers (also of "Thin Thighs Guaranteed!") is there to make certain that you don't overdo it. If you decide to construct a Slim Training™ routine of your own for six weeks - for instance combining the Sculpt and Sweat tapes of Power 90 into one daily "Slim Session", each workout should tax your system enough so that you can ensure strength gains and maximize your body's fat burning capabilities WITHOUT OVERTRAINING. Use low weight and high repetition resistance training. This allows for only very slight muscle hypertrophy (growth), which is offset by the body's fat loss over the course of the 6 week program. The result is a slimmer, fitter you.

Important: If you decide to turn your current program into a Slim Training program: If you are working your body to its maximum right now and try this, you could overload your body and "overtrain". Overtraining can lead to compromised progress, injuries, and eventually illness. When you workout hard (like in Power 90), your body breaks down. You need to wait for it to recover to train again. That’s how you get stronger. But if you work out too soon, then you will actually reduce your strength and weaken your body’s systems. You must exercise caution not to overdo it if you decide to put your own Slim Training program together!

Overtraining is why the time between resistance workouts should normally vary from a day to as many as 6 or 7 days, depending upon individual recuperative ability, size and type of muscle, efficient use of supplements, diet, rest and other restorative techniques, and the severity of the overload.

Six to seven days for recovery is for severe overload only and is in the realm of the serious athlete. "Normal" gym type workouts will not generate this much "microtrauma" to your system.

Overload is what we call intensity of the workout, with intensity meaning purely resistance training. Meaning simply that for Slim Training, the amount of weight that you push around should be reduced. You don't want to attempt to lift your maximum weight. If you ever fail at less than 12-15 reps, then lighten the load. You can recover quickly from daily aerobic exercise but resistance training (heavy weights, plyometrics, etc) will hammer you if you attempt to do it to the max each day. This doesn't mean that you don't work hard. It just means that you need to re-set your gauges for the purposes of Slim Training™. Don't attempt to lift the same weights you were lifting when you were resting a day or more between sessions. That would be a recipe for overtraining. But if you can make yourself re-adjust and go backwards (hard for some), then you can turn your current program into a Slim Training program and expect results.

Finally, remember that Slim Training was designed to only last 6 weeks. It can be a taxing program. You should back off once you peak and give yourself some time to recover while you get ready to blast away at your next program.

So if you want to change your body shape from say, a pear shape to a V shape, you’ll find this Slim Training technique is a great tool for you when utilized correctly!

Day 33: Lower Body Focus

Looking at this picture in front of us (that I took post workout today), I see now that I was a bit delusional the other day when I concluded that my legs needed trimming and that my abdominals hadn't made any progress over the last 30 days.

They do say hindsight is always twenty-twenty, right? I guess when I was snapping my 30-day progress pictures, I felt the anxiety and doubt that most people feel about their results. Of course, the rational part of me knows that if you bring it in the kitchen and on the mat, you really have nothing to worry about. But, who can be rational all the time? What's even more interesting is that I had to look long and hard to see just where I had made improvements. I said it the other day and I will say it again today: Oh, we humans, we are so darn annoying sometimes!

Since I went to sleep last night thinking that my legs needed more trimming and toning, this morning I decided to switch P90X's Legs & Back with Debbie Siebber's Firm It Up (legs and butt focus) dvd, part of Slim Series, followed by Ten Minute Trainer Abs.

Despite my realization now that my legs are progressing just fine, I'm glad I decided to switch things up today. With P90X, you train your back two times a week (in phase II, with Back and Biceps and then with Legs & Back) and while I absolutely love the X, I wish there would be slightly more focus on the lower body. With so much focus on the upper body, I felt very good about doing Firm It Up today and may decide to repeat this routine for subsequent weeks.

What I love about being so familiar with BeachBody videos is being able to choose a routine that is right for me, both in terms of what my body needs and what my mind feels like doing.

If you've done Debbie's videos, then you know they are no walk in the park. Holy Moly, I was dripping with sweat, dying for those darn leg lifts to be over.

When they finally were, I took a ten-minute break, and really focused on my abs with Tony's Ten Minute Trainer Abs.

I Rocked the House Today, Boys and Girls!

Day 33 down, 57 more to go!

Slim Series Slims Down Suzy

Hey, Boys and Girls! Very Happy Friday!

Okay, so my name is not Suzy. But, that is me in the photos and it is true that Slim Series has Slimmed Barbie down.

HIP

HIP

Hurray for me!!!

Tomorrow I become a Slim Series graduate!

I decided to do a four-week rotation of Slim Series following round 2 of P90X to trim down my thighs some more. As always, Debbie Delivered!

Slim Series offered just the right combination of cardio and high-rep resistance work to build some muscle and lean Barbie out. I've said it before and I will say it again: There is nothing like Debbie to blast the fat off your thighs and back!

If you're wondering what program to choose after Slim in 6 and are not quite ready for or are not interested in P90X, I say Slim Series is the way to go.

Bring it!
